Organized by the Taiwan Arts Development Association for the Disabled, the "Inner Light | Wild Light Land: A Joint Exhibition of Indigenous Art from the Light Gallery" exhibition, after a year of preparation, brings together 15 award-winning artists from previous years to present a diverse and rich spiritual world through the unique and sincere creative energy of indigenous art. The exhibition, titled "Wild Light," symbolizes the artists as beams of light emanating from humble beginnings, each radiating their unique brilliance; the exhibition itself becomes a space where these numerous points of light intertwine and converge. The exhibited works span multiple emotional states, from highs and lows to passion and tranquility, showcasing not only the artists' distinct creative vocabulary but also inviting viewers to gradually enter the inner landscape constructed by the artists through observation and experience, and to resonate deeply with the works.
The exhibition will be on display at the Dadun Art Gallery (4) of the Dadun Cultural Center in Taichung City from now until July 8. The opening ceremony was held this afternoon (1). Many distinguished guests, including Chen Wenjin, director of the Dadun Cultural Center in Taichung City, and Chang Lily, president of Treasure Dragon Construction, who took over as global president of the World Federation of Real Estate in mid-June, attended the event to congratulate and support the artists.
It is worth mentioning that, in addition to receiving guidance from the Taichung City Cultural Affairs Bureau and operating subsidies from the National Culture and Arts Foundation, this exhibition also received support from companies and associations such as Treasure Dragon Construction, Liming Construction, Vedan Enterprise, Lipu Construction, Lijun Trading, Taichung City Construction Management Association, Fenggu Construction, Shengqun Metal, Jingzhan Construction, Hengyu Capital, Yishidai Famous Products, Wang Jianlong Clinic, Health Pharmacy, Panxing Construction, and Lianqi Construction, as well as individuals such as Lin Biqiu, Chen Pinzhu, Lin Juanru, and Ma Shanshan. It also received co-sponsorship and sponsorship from Jiahe Architecture, Sky City, and many other private individuals.
When discussing Art Brut, French artist Jean Dubuffet is one of its key proponents. He proposed the concept of "Art Brut," which refers to a pure creative state that is not shaped by the academic system and mainstream cultural norms.
For many years, the Taiwan Arts Development Association for the Disabled has been promoting outsider art, focusing on and supporting creators with unique creativity and originality, hoping to allow more people to see the artistic value and depth of life contained in these works. In contemporary society, characterized by rapid technological development and the dominance of rational thinking, outsider art, with its free and open creative approach, transforms personal perceptual experiences into a unique visual language. These works are both a reflection of the artist's inner world and a mirror, guiding viewers to re-examine themselves and explore those feelings and imaginations that, though undefined, truly exist deep within the soul.
Chen Chi-sheng, chairman of the Taiwan Arts Development Association for the Disabled, said that native art is not just a classification of art forms, but also a sincere and independent creative force. "We hope that through the exhibition, the society can see the abundant life energy behind the works, and we also believe that art can become an important bridge to understand and connect each other." This exhibition brings together 15 artists with distinctive styles to depict their unique life experiences and spiritual outlooks with their brushes. Chen Zhisheng welcomes the public to go to Dadun Gallery to appreciate the works and support this group of artists during the exhibition period.
